RANGERS have recorded four wins from their last four games and the reaction from the Old Firm defeat - in terms of the results at least - has been positive for the side.

The performances haven’t always been there against Livingston in the league or cup or St Johnstone but Steven Gerrard will be confident they will come.

If you aren’t playing up to scratch, you still need to win the games. I don’t mind Rangers winning ugly.

If the showing isn’t that great against Aberdeen this weekend, Rangers still need to get the three points to keep this momentum building.

Aberdeen will be on a downer after losing to Hearts on penalties, but don’t you be in any doubt about how much this one means to them.

Derek McInnes and his players will be right up for this one, and so will their fans, because that is what they do when they come to Ibrox.

The results against Aberdeen weren’t good enough last season and the two cup defeats were so disappointing for Rangers.

I don’t see Derek coming and having a real go at Rangers. They will try and deny us space and try to make it as difficult as possible to frustrate the team and the crowd.

Derek has been there, seen it and done it and he knows what it will take to win on Saturday.

But this is an improved Rangers side from last season and there is a greater resilience about them.

There have been games already where we would easily have dropped points last term but they have managed to get results, like they did against Livingston the other night.

You have to get through it and a win is all that really matters tomorrow.
