IT is safe to say that there is not a lot of enthusiasm for Scotland’s double-header with Cyprus and Kazakhstan and there seems to be a bit of apathy around the national team at present. That is sad to see.

There will be fans that were regulars at Scotland games for years and years that won’t be at these two qualifiers and it is difficult to be positive about Steve Clarke’s side right now.

The only good thing at present is that we have these play-offs coming up and a couple of results over the coming days would give the team a boost going into those fixtures.

Steve has lost a handful of players that would have started both games in an ideal world so he is going into them in a really difficult situation. He is still the right man for the job, but he needs positive results and to show signs of progress soon.

If Scotland can get a couple of wins, that would give everyone a lift and hopefully raise enthusiasm levels for the national side again to get us moving in the right direction.
