CELTIC defender Lee O'Connor made an instant impact on his Ireland debut as he set up a goal in his country's 3-1 win over New Zealand.
The 19-year-old was handed his first start for the senior Irish squad after manager Mick McCarthy was impressed with his performances in the under-21s.
O'Connor repaid the faith shown in him by curling in an inviting cross from the right for Callum Robinson to head in Ireland's third in the international friendly match.
The versatile defender joined Celtic from Manchester United on transfer deadline day but has yet to make an appearance in the Parkhead club's first team.
