Scotland have brilliantly parodied US sitcom It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia to celebrate John McGinn's recent international scoring spree.

McGinn bagged a double for his country in last night's 3-1 win over Kazakhstan at Hampden Park.

The brace marked his sixth and seventh goals for Scotland after a hat-trick against San Marino and goals against Cyprus and Russia.

A short clip - just shy of a minute long - was posted by the Scottish National Team's official Twitter account nodding to the FX comedy's famous intro.

Asked by a young supporter: "Why haven't you scored for Scotland yet?" back in September, McGinn answered at the time: "That's something that's been bugging me".

And, just like in the telly favourite, the leading intro moved into the theme song with the caption 'John scores for Scotland'.

Fans loved the video, which also then showed a handful of the Aston Villa man's goals for Scotland.

It racked up hundreds of likes and shares.

One person wrote: "Nice meme Scotland".

Another added: "Super".

One beamed: "Straight out of Always Sunny".

A fourth responded with a GIF of 'the gang' from Sunny dancing.
