CELTIC and Rangers are reportedly set to battle it out for the signature of Carlisle defender Jarrad Barithwaite when the transfer window reopens in January, Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes has insisted that he has had no contact with Stoke City amid speculation that the English Championship club are set to make a move for Sam Cosgrove and Hearts are set to appoint Daniel Stendel as Craig Levein's successor.

Celtic and Rangers 'tracking' Braithwaite

Carlisle United defender Jarred Braithwaite, 17, has caught the eye of Old Firm rivals Celtic and Rangers with the pair reportedly set to battle it out for the centre-back's signature in the January transfer window. The Scottish Sun reckon that the player is valued at around £1 million and has attracted plenty of admirers after a strong start to his first campaign in senior football.

Stendel set to be appointed as Hearts manager

Former Barnsley boss Daniel Stendel is set to be announced as Craig Levein's successor in the Tynecastle dugout, according to the Scottish Sun. They say that the 45-year-old will be unveiled as the new manager of the Gorgie club within the next 24 hours.

Barnsley 'expect compensation' from Hearts

The Daily Mail are reporting that Stendel's former club Barnsley have written to the Tynecastle heirarchy demanding compensation for their ex-manager. The Mail say that despite being sacked by the Championship side in October, Stendel remains on the club's payroll and as such Barnsely belive they are entitled to compensation from Hearts. Barnsley chief executive Paul Conway told the Daily Mail: "We still have a valid contract with Daniel Stendel until the end of the season. And if anybody else is tampering with our rights, we are going to expect compensation."

McInnes plays down Cosgrove speculation

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes has insisted that there has been 'no conversation' with Stoke City over a potential deal for striker Sam Cosgrove. The £4 million-rated forward has been linked with a move to the Bet365 Stadium but McInnes, who admitted that his players could be sold if Aberdeen recieve the "right offer", told the BBC: "There has been no conversation with any Championship club."

Ntcham rules out Celtic exit

French midfielder Olivier Ntcham says he has no intention of leaving Celtic in the near future - and promised fans that there is a lot more to come from him. "I am focused on Celtic 150 percent," he said. "I am not spending my time looking around. I think there is a lot more to come because I’m not quite fully fit just yet, in terms of matches. I am enjoying playing though."

Patterson to sign Rangers contract extension

Rangers youngster Nathan Patterson is set to put pen to paper on a new deal at Ibrox after starring for Graeme Murty's development side, according to the Scottish Sun. They believe that the 18-year-old, who was reportedly on Liverpool's radar,  will sign a two-year extension.

Morelos named as Colombia's top scorer

Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has been named as Colombia's top scorer in 2019 - despite the fact that there is still a full month of fixtures to be played until the year's end. AS Colombia described the 23-year-old's season as "spectacular" and report that the Ibrox forward is 10 goals ahead of his nearest rival, Atalanta's Duvan Zapata.

Former Chelsea winger had Rangers trial

Nigerian news website The Daily Post are reporting that Rangers had Nigerian winger Adrian Akande on trial in recent weeks. The 16-year-old recently left Stamford Bridge and has also had trial spells at West Ham and German side Hoffenheim.
