Erik Sviatchenko has opened up on his "annoying" Celtic exit admitting he was frustrated at not being able to "control" the narrative.

The Dane joined the Hoops back in 2016 from FC Midtjylland and won two Scottish Premiership titles and three domestic cups.

Ronny Deila signed the defender but he only managed a handful of appearances under Brendan Rodgers before he left.

Erik Sviatchenko claims Gerrard made 'you're not funny anymore' jibe after Rangers beat Midtjylland

And the player still harbours disappointment at the exit.

Speaking to DR.DKR, Sviatchenko said: "Just as amazing the Celtic era was, it was just as annoying that it ended so quickly.

"I was disappointed and frustrated that I couldn't control the process."

Rodgers' own signings to replace Sviatchenko came in the form of Marvin Compper and Jack Hendry.

The former made just one appearance during his torrid time in Glasgow while Hendry is unable to force his way into Neil Lennon's squad even now.
