Ex-Manchester United star Darren Fletcher has heaped praise on Celtic skipper Scott Brown and hailed his adaptability.

Fletcher, 35, played alongside Brown with Scotland for a number of years and the Hoops-daft former Red Devil has watched Broony tear it up for Celts in Premiership and European action.

The former midfielder believes Brown has "grown into" his captaincy role at Parkhead.

And he was quick to lavish the Celt with compliments for still playing at a high level for his club at 34-years-old.

"His engine, his desire to keep doing it and setting standards. He's a fantastic captain for Celtic and Scotland. He has grown into the role over the years," Fletcher told Celtic TV.

"Now he's controlling the game from midfield and dictating the tempo but still with all that energy when he needs to.

"Even adapting his game in the latter stages of his career to what he was when he was a young kid when he was flying around the pitch everywhere.

"Credit to him, he's probably a lot more of a professional nowadays as well.

"He had to be because the game has evolved and stuff like that. He's doing fantastic and his form is as arguably as good as ever, which is good to see."
