Thomas Gravesen has opened up on his time at Celtic and admits he has no regrets about leaving Real Madrid for Glasgow.

The Dane spent two years at Parkhead after leaving Madrid.

Galacticos boss Fabio Capello had told him how he would not feature for his Madrid outfit and the former midfielder opted to move away to join the Hoops.

And he maintains he made the right decision.

"Capello was straight with me and said 'I like you as a person but as a player, I will not be using you here'," Gravesen told Sky Sports.

"He said he didn't have any space for me. I could've chosen to sit down and be made or angry.

"But I chose to join a fantastic club in Celtic and I don't regret that at all.

"I wasn't in Glasgow long enough [to develop the accent] though I loved every minute."

Gravesen netted two goals in two Old Firm derbies during his stint as a Celtic player.

But his on-field rivalry with Rangers' players never stopped him being pally away from the pitch,

He recalled: "I saw David Weir in Scotland and we played together for many years at Everton.

"On the park, there was a fierce rivalry but outside I was allowed to say 'hello' and 'how are you?' because I spent four or five years with David at Everton."
