STEVEN GERRARD was frustrated with a mix and match performance from Rangers as they let two points slip through their grasps at Pittodrie.

The Gers lost a two goal lead as Aberdeen earned a deserved share of the spoils thanks to goals from Jon Gallagher and Andy Considine.

And Gerrard was disappointed that early efforts from Scott Arfield and Ryan Jack weren't enough for the Light Blues as they fell two points adrift of Celtic at the top of the Premiership.

He said: “It was a tough one and you saw the two sides of us tonight. I thought for the first 35, 40 minutes we were outstanding, very dominant and controlling the game and playing at such a fantastic level.

"I was so pleased at the side and then we concede a silly goal at a bad time and I think it flipped the whole momentum of the game. We got too confident at 2-0, we stopped doing the things that got us that lead and Aberdeen put us under more pressure and improved in the second half. We couldn’t handle that pressure at times.

"We conceded another goal and they had a couple of chances from there. I think you saw two sides of us, which is frustrating for me because if we had carried on doing the things that got us a 2-0 lead I am sure we would have been talking about a victory now.

"I think we need to manage games better, especially when you are away to your rivals. You go 2-0 up and the first thing you think is to get to half-time and to concede a goal like that was disappointing. I have got to look to my leaders in the team to get us to half-time and I never got the reaction I wanted second half."
