Neil Lennon has revealed Leigh Griffiths will be involved in Celtic's Europa League conclusion this week after missing Sunday's Betfred Cup final.

Griffiths missed out on being involved in the Hoops' squad for their clash with Rangers at the weekend.

Fitness has been somewhat of an issue for the Scotland star who has also been struggling with difficulties off the field in recent months.

But manager Lennon explained how the striker did not miss out due to a lack of fitness, rather he was dropped from the squad to accommodate Odsonne Edouard's place on the bench after the Frenchman was deemed unfit to start.

Lewis Morgan played up front on his own in a difficult shift, though his side ultimately won the game 1-0 and the trophy.

Lennon said: "Leigh will be involved this week.

"We were going to start Odsonne if he'd have been fit and Leigh would've been on the bench.

"The fact that Odsonne couldn't start then we decided to go with Morgan to start and bring Odsonne on.

"Then we couldn't get Leigh on the bench, so it's nothing to do with fitness levels or anything like that."
