HOW the Celtic players rated in their straightforward 2-0 home win over Hibernian.

Fraser Forster - 6
An afternoon at the opposite end of the spectrum to last Sunday at Hampden. Very little to do but did manage to repel one effort from Christopher Jullien that might have give Hibs some hope.

Nir Bitton - 6
Kept his place after playing in the midweek Europa League game against Cluj. Formed part of a back three as Celtic went with a 3-5-2. Booked.

Christopher Jullien - 6
Almost netted a fabulous header – into his own net. His blushes were saved by a timely reaction stop from Fraser Forster.

Kristoffer Ajer - 6
One timely intervention after an impeccable Scott Allan pass had landed kindly for Jason Naismith in the opening period. Always keen to take the ball out of defence and push Celtic up.

Jeremie Frimpong - 7
Some week for the youngster. Netted the goal that broke Hibs’ resistance just before the break and continues to look assured in that role on the flank.

Olivier Ntcham - 6
First real chance of the game but hit his effort straight into the arms of Ofir Marciano. Composed and always involved in the heart of the midfield.

Scott Brown - 6
Flattened by former team-mate Scott Allan in the second period. Offered protection to a back three as he patrolled that area in front of his defence.

Callum McGregor - 7
One fierce effort from distance and then pushed one effort just wide of the post just after the interval. Always tidy and effective on the ball, no matter how tight a space he finds himself in.

Boli Bolingoli - 6
Curled one effort just wide of the target before the break and involved in much of Celtic’s attacking play, particularly in the opening period given his wingback role.

James Forrest - 6
Has looked leggy in recent weeks, which is perhaps no real surprise given the volume of games he has played in recent seasons. Replaced by Tom Rogic in the latter stages.

Odsonne Edouard - 6
Dragged one effort wide of the target but the architect of Celtic’s opening goal after winning the ball and slipping it into the path of the effervescent Frimpong. Scorned glorious second-half chance to put the game beyond Hibs but atoned shortly after with his goal.

Substitutes

Leigh Griffiths - 5
Desperate for a goal. Took over from Edouard almost as soon as the striker had netted. One header that went wide after Frimpong’s delivery and another effort that was wide if the target.

Tom Rogic - 4
On for the final stages of the game as Celtic saw out the win.
