Rangers made their way through a difficult Group G in second place behind FC Porto.

The Portuguese giants won just one game more than the Ibrox side but Steven Gerrard's men can be delighted with their Euro run this season so far.

Dispatching of Feyenoord and Young Boys is no mean feat but Gers were able to do just that to set themselves up for a tasty round of 32 clash.

Some big names remain in the hat for Rangers, with a Battle of Britain against the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal a possibility.

But who else could they come up against? Who might be the so-called 'easiest' team to play with a view to making the last-16?

Here's a look at some possible opponents for Rangers, beginning with clubs they might feel they'd have a decent chance against.

Gent

There really are no easy games for unseeded Rangers in the next round, with some heavyweight names in the hat.

Gent, then, are perhaps the smallest name on the list of potential opponents.

The fact that they are third in their domestic league behind Club Brugge (A Celtic potential opponent) and Antwerp could point to form inconsistencies.

They have managed some big wins in Europe this season, though, including a 3-1 away win over Wolfsburg, so they shouldn't be discounted.

But with the other names in Rangers' eye-line, Gent might be a decent chance they have of making it through.

LASK

Austrian side LASK may not necessarily be the household name that Manchester United are, but their European acumen has been clear for all to see this campaign.

Big wins over Sporting Lisbon, Rosenborg and PSV has proved that.

Another stiff test for Rangers but, as we've outlined, there are no easy ones.

Gers are in hot form of their own and would welcome anyone to Ibrox.

Istanbul Başakşehir

Any team that can finish above Roma in a Europa League group are not to be taken lightly.

One benefit Rangers would have over Başakşehir would be that the Turkish side are in poor form domestically.

Sitting fourth in the Super Liga behind the likes of Sivasspor, Besiktas and Trabzonspor, Başakşehir are not all-conquering.

They were also beaten twice by Roma - 4-0 and 3-0 convincingly - in their group - so their defence leaves a little to be desired.

Alfredo Morelos and Jermain Defoe would be licking their lips at the prospect of racking up more goals in Europe this season.

Tougher opponents

Manchester United

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side have not hit the heights this season, that's no secret.

Sixth in the Premier League and struggling to stop conceding sloppy goals, the Red Devils have not been the same feared United side from back in the day.

What cannot be said, however, is that they don't have any talent among their playing squad.

Marcus Rashford has scored 16 goals in all competitions this season and Anthony Martial has returned to form and fitness in recent weeks.

The cauldron of Old Trafford might also prove a daunting prospect.

It must be said, though. Rangers might never have a better chance to beat United given their recent stuttering in the league - including today's 1-1 draw with Everton at home.

They'd prefer to avoid United until the latter rounds, however, one would suspect.

Ajax

Last season's Champions League was a big missed opportunity for Ajax.

All the way to the semi-final only to narrowly lose out to Tottenham in the most dramatic of circumstances.

Their playing squad has not changed too much on the back of that and their Champions League group stage this season - while it didn't go to plan in terms of qualification - still proved fruitful.

Wins over Lille and Valencia and a 4-4 draw with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge would give Rangers cause for concern.

Inter Milan

Another side dropping down from the Champions League, Inter will have been disappointed with their group results.

They'll have been frustrated in the first place to have come up against the likes of Barcelona and Dortmund, certainly.

They did manage a win over the German giants at home and away to Slavia Prague, to see them through to the Europa knockouts.

And they're second by just one point in Serie A behind Juventus - where they have a game in hand.

Rangers will definitely be hoping to avoid Inter in the round of 32, if only for a more glamorous tie further down the line.

After all, there are no easy games.
