Darian MacKinnon has joined Partick Thistle after his Hamilton contract was terminated early.
The midfielder had been at Fountain of Youth Stadium since 2012 and will join Thistle as they bid to move up the Scottish Championship table after a poor start to the season.
Club captain at Hamilton, MacKinnon helped his side to a play-off win in 2014 over Hibs to take them back to the Premiership.
He had been on the lookout for game time this season and has now been allowed to leave early.
Speaking to the clubs website, Allan Maitland said: “Darian’s been absolutely brilliant for Hamilton ever since his arrival. He’s a true professional on and off the park and we wish him all the best in the future.
“Darian will remain as part of our academy coaching staff with his current post as u16s coach. He’s still an important part of the club’s academy plans going forward.”
