ISMAILA SORO has become Celtic’s second signing of the January transfer window after completing a £2m move from Israeli side Bnei Yehuda last night.
The Ivorian touched down in Glasgow yesterday to sign a four-and-a-half-year deal with the Scottish champions after finally being granted a work permit, with the move already agreed in principle and the player passing a medical last week.
It is the second big-money arrival of the window for Celtic, with £3.5m striker Patryk Klimala signing earlier in January, as Celtic manager Neil Lennon bolsters his squad for the second half of the season.
Soro was delighted to finally complete the move, and despite reports yesterday that the player was hoping to use Celtic as a stepping stone towards the English Premier League, he was adamant that he can find everything he is looking for in Glasgow’s East End.
“People talk about what you want from a team,” Soro told the official Celtic website.
“I know Celtic will give me everything I want.
“I am joining a massive club, one of the world’s truly great football clubs with fantastic players, a beautiful history and the best fans around."
