CRAIG GORDON has reportedly asked Celtic to leave the club before the transfer window closes on Friday night, Rangers are in the market for another signing this month while Aberdeen and Hibs are to battle it out for the signature of Ross County forward Ross Stewart.

Gordon pleads to leave Celtic

Celtic goalkeeper and five-time title winner Craig Gordon has asked to leave the club before the transfer deadline, with Hearts said to be interested in a reunion with the former player. The Scottish Sun are reporting that Gordon is keen to remain in the Scotland squad and fears that his place could be under threat because of a lack of game-time at Parkhead.

Ross plays down McGeady link

Hibernian manager Jack Ross says that he will not make a bid for Aiden McGeady, who is currently on the books at Ross' former club Sunderland. The Daily Record are reporting that McGeady was spotted in the crowd during Hibs' 4-2 win over Dundee United last night but Ross insisted that he did not know the former Celtic winger was in attendance.

Rangers eye one more signing

Rangers assistant manager Gary McAllister has admitted that the Ibrox club are in the market for further recruits and refused to rule out a late arrival in Govan. "A player that makes you better in any position gives any club a boost," he said. "We’re just continually looking."

Southampton enter race for Shankland

Lawrence Shankland is on the radar of Southampton, according to the Scottish Sun. The Premier League side sent scouts to watch the striker in action against Hibs last night - with representatives from Celtic, QPR, Stoke City and Blackpool also at Easter Road - and the Sun reckon that United could receive bids before the window closes.

January marquee signings a thing of the past, admits Lennon

Celtic manager Neil Lennon does not expect to add to his side this month - and admitted that the days where Celtic could bring in the likes of Craig Bellamy, Roy Keane or Robbie Keane could be behind the Scottish champions. "It’s harder to do that kind of signing now," he said. "The way the money is elsewhere it’s very difficult."

Hibs and Aberdeen chase Stewart

Ross County forward Ross Stewart, who has seven top-flight goals this season, has caught the attention of Aberdeen and Hibernian with the pair set to battle it out for the 23-year-old's signature. The Daily Record believe that the two clubs are keeping tabs on the County striker, and are reporting that Hibs have already enquired about bringing Stewart to Easter Road.
