CELTIC defender Christopher Jullien admitted his relief after volleying in the goal that broke Accies’ resistance yesterday afternoon.

Having lost Marios Ogkmpoe for the opening goal of the game, Jullien felt a duty of care to atone for his indiscretion.

The defender put Celtic in front for the first time in the game before further goals from Odsonne Edouard and James Forrest made for a comfortable final for the Parkhead side.

“My first goal is a clean sheet,” said the Frenchman. “I was really mad about the goal we conceded because it was my player who scored. My goal is a bonus.

“I think the most difficult part is to score – when the ball gets to the line and goes in I’m just happy.”

Celtic’s win ensured that they took full advantage of Rangers’ draw with Aberdeen on Saturday afternoon, opening up a seven-point lead over their rivals.

“We don’t talk about the finish right now,” he said.

“It’s a lot of months ahead. We are just focused on the next game.

“The title is a long marathon, it’s a long race and each game is so important.”
