STEVEN Gerrard has revealed that Swedish defender Filip Helander will be out for another four weeks as he recovers from a foot injury.

The Rangers manager, speaking ahead of Wednesday night’s match against Hibernian, said supporters will not see the international back in the side until at least March.

Helander was taken off injured during the Betfred Cup final defeat to Celtic in November.

“Helander, hopefully, will return in around 4/5 weeks,” said Gerrard.

He also gave updates on Ryan Jack, Greg Stewart and captain James Tavernier: “James [Tavernier] is available and a lot more ready than the weekend, Greg Stewart is back available and Alfredo has had 90 minutes under his belt.

“Ryan Jack won't be long but has no chance for tomorrow.”

Rangers go into Wednesday’s clash having failed to win in two of their last three matches which came after two unconvincing victories over Stranraer and St Mirren following the winter break.

“In the next ten days, we hope to have a very positive few results,” said Gerrard, who takes his side on the road to face Hamilton on Saturday.

“As a manager, when you get a couple of poor results you look to senior guys like [Steven] Davis and [Allan] McGregor to rally the troops.

“The players know what it takes.”
