Rangers fans have been left divided after the club announced a new partnership with Trump Turnberry.

The luxury golf resort will play host to charity days for the Light Blues as well as matchday hospitality for supporters among other aspects of the partnership.

Announcing the new venture this afternoon, Gers managing director Stewart Robertson said: "We’re delighted to partner with Turnberry as it provides us with an iconic luxury venue with a rich heritage for club events, including our hugely popular corporate golf days.

"Turnberry, like Rangers, has a great history and tradition in sport and is one of the most iconic Scottish brands, widely recognised around the world."

Some supporters were pleased with the partnership and let their club know on social media. The initial post racked up thousands of combined likes and shares.

And some even jokingly urged the President of the USA to invest in the Glasgow club. One wrote: "Excellent, feel free to invest in the club if you want good chap @realDonaldTrump".

Another added: "Make Rangers great again." One fan commented: "Great news, well done on getting this deal over the line guys".

A fourth responded: "Trump is a bear".

Others weren't so taken with the club's decision to align with the controversial Trump. One said: "No thanks."

Another added: "really? is this a joke? if not then im off." One wrote: "Absolutely get in the sea with that."

A fourth said: "Sorry, very bad messaging and poor timing.  Not all sponsorships or money is the same.  Disappointed."
