Glasgow Clan Chief Operating Officer Gareth Chalmers has revealed the club have signed a defenceman, who should be ready to play in tomorrow's clash with Manchester Storm.
Following the season ending injury to Jordan Heywood, the side have been in the market for a new defenceman and Chalmers has confirmed they have secured the signature of one, although he is yet to reveal who exactly it is.
The testimionial this week for Matt Haywood has delayed the announcement somewhat but Chalmers has revealed a contract has been signed, work permit issued and a defenceman is due to arrive in Glasgow. And pending clearance from the IIHF, he should be in the line-up for Saturday’s game.
Tommorow's visit of Manchester to Braehead Arena is a vital one for the Clan, with Zack Fitzgerald's men sitting in seventh place in the EIHL, one spot ahead of Manchester.
However, Fitzgerald will be in confident mood as his side have won all three games against Manchester so far this season, the most recent a tight 6-5 victory in Manchester in December.
