Fraser Forster: Another big European moment for Celtic as he denied Jens Stage from the penalty spot 8

Jeremie Frimpong: Back into the starting line-up after Lennon went for a back four and kept on his toes on his European debut. Tough night for the teenager. Got forward well on a couple of occasions but couldn’t make the most it 6

Kris Ajer: Went to ground to take the ball off the toe off of Dame N’Doye in the frantic opening stages. Important tackle again in the second period but always causes some concern with the ease with which he goes to ground 6

Christopher Jullien: Managed to carry on after being involved in a first-half clash of heads with N’Doye. Sloppy pass almost immediately after gave Bryan Oviedo a chance. Had one header at the back post on the cusp of the break that might have doubled Celtic’s advantage and put in a strong second-half performance 7

Jonny Hayes: Solid shift from the versatile Irishman. One strong second-half run that could have set up a second for Odsonne Edouard 6

Olivier Ntcham: Sloppy touch on the edge of the box which led to N’Doye levelling the scores for Copenhagen. Replaced in the second period 5

Scott Brown: Booked for a second-half foul and then went off injured. Celtic missed his influence as they struggled to get out their own half 6

Callum McGregor: Simple pass to the feet of Edouard as Celtic claimed the opening goal. Should have slipped the ball through to Edouard after driving forward just before the hour mark rather than blasting his effort high over the bar 6

Ryan Christie: Part of an attacking triumvirate and intelligently teed up Edouard for a chance inside the first minute. The catalyst for Edouard’s goal with a driving run from the right. Night took a turn for the worse as VAR ruled against him in penalty award. Misses the next game 7

Odsonne Edouard: Another big performance from the striker. Two huge chances inside the opening five minutes which didn’t come off but did not miss a third opportunity. Lifted the ball over the advancing Karl-Johan Johnsson and into the net to give Celtic a vital away goal 7

James Forrest: Combined well with McGregor midway through the opening period before driving forward and dragging his effort wide. His run when Edouard scored Celtic’s opener will have gone unnoticed but actually dragged the Copenhagen defence apart and gave the Frenchman additional space 6

Substitutes: Mohamed Elyounoussi: Accusations of encroachment from the Copenhagen players at the penalty miss. Had come on to replace Ntcham 5

Nir Bitton: On for Brown and booked 4

Jozo Simunovic: Took over from Frimpong as Celtic tried to shore things up in the final minutes 3
