Kieran Tierney met for a catch-up with his 'hero' Scott Brown as the pair enjoyed a day out together.

The Celtic captain and his former teammate posed for a photo together as they hung out during down-time.

Tierney departed the Hoops for £25million last summer and has found it tough going since the move with injuries including a thigh problem, groin issue and a dislocated shoulder. But his old pal was happy to cheer him up and shared the picture with fans on social media.

Brown wrote: "Great wee catch up with this man. Always a pleasure. What a guy". KT, 22, was more than happy to share the snap on his own Instagram account, revealing Brown to be his hero. He added: "Always a pleasure seeing ma hero..." with a love-heart emoji attached.

Fans couldn't get enough of the bromance and the pic racked up a combined 140,000 on both players' accounts.

One wrote: "Looking amazing Bhoys", while another added: "Ye love to see it." One fan commented: "Once a Celt, always a Celt". A fourth responded: "AHH YESSSSS!"

Other Hoops fans were desperate to see Tierney back in green and white and urged their skipper to bring him back. One laughed: "Get back up the road KT I have the kettle on for you". Another wrote: "Moan back for 10".

Tierney spent four years alongside Brown in the Celtic first-team before departing for a record fee. He has only managed 11 appearances for the Gunners so far this season through injury.
