Steven Gerrard watched Ianis Hagi miss Rangers' sixth penalty in 10 spot-kicks - and joked he'll be taking the next one himself.

Hagi's 12-yard effort was brilliantly saved by Matheus Lima between the sticks for Braga but it was another disappointment from the spot with the likes of James Tavernier, Scott Arfield and Alfredo Morelos all among takers who have missed for Gers this term.

It didn't matter too much, in the end, for the Romanian and his teammates after Ryan Kent's winner in the second-half sealed a tremendous 4-2 aggregate victory over the Portuguese.

Gerrard, though, says he and his coaching staff will continue to look for solutions to their penalty woes - even if it means having to lace up his boots and smash the ball into the back of the net himself. "I'm on the next one," Gerrard joked while chatting to BT Sport.

"We are trying to find solutions in that area, penalties are tough especially in pressure situations. We have some younger players but we will try to find the next solution. If all else fails I take them myself!"
