SCOT GEMMILL has named his squad for the upcoming Under-21 European Championships qualifiers, and has included promising Chelsea youngster Billy Gilmour.
Following man-of-the-match displays against Everton and European and world champions Liverpool, some members of the Tartan Army were hopeful that the 18-year-old could feature for Steve Clarke's senior team when they take on Israel at the end of this month.
But that prospect now looks unlikely, with Gilmour instead selected to feature for the Under-21s for two crucial fixtures in their EUROs qualifying campaign.

Gemmill's side will take on Croatia at Tynecastle on Friday 27 March before playing away to Greece in the following next game; with Scotland in third at the midway point of the campaign, wins against the two nations could see the young Scots move top of Group D.
The senior national team will face Israel at Hampden on Thursday March 26, where a win would tee up a one-legged play-off with either Norway or Serbia - with a place at EURO 2020 up for grabs.
