Former Rangers midfielder Ian Black has signed for junior outfit Dunbar United.

The 34-year-old put pen to paper on a deal with the East Lothian outfit earlier this week after taking the decision to leave Tranent Juniors.

Black, who counts Hearts and Inverness among his other former clubs, joins the Central Taxis Premier Division side as they sit 11th spot in the table. His experience could prove invaluable.

Posting a photo with the ex-Scotland cap on their social media page, Dunbar confirmed the signing. "We are delighted to announce the signing of ex-Hearts and Rangers Ian Black following his departure from Tranent Juniors," the club wrote.

"The manager moved quickly to secure Ian's signature last week and he joins us at an important stage in the season with every game being a cup final. He brings great technical ability, but he also loves a tackle and will add a wealth of experience at the highest level.

"He will go straight into the squad for this weekend's massive game against Sauchie. Welcome to Dunbar United 'Blackie'."
