Moussa Dembele has taken aim at Rangers in a blistering Old Firm message - labelling derby day CELTIC day.

The former Hoops striker took the pop at Gers in the build-up to yesterday's scheduled Ibrox clash which was eventually cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Sharing a throwback on their social media channels, Celtic posed a question to their supporters, asking what memory of derby day is their favourite. And Dembele was quick to chime in with his own memories of his time in Glasgow against Celtic's fiercest rivals.

He posted on Twitter: "That’s a tough one... what about when we smashed them for the title at home? the double nutmeg back-heel? the Lustig Top hat celebration? Jozo tackle? or when we kept the ball by the corner flag with @patrick7roberts? too many memories! So... I’ll pick them all #DerbyDayIsCelticDay".

Fans of the Scottish champions were delighted with Dembele's comments and let the Frenchman know that he still holds a place in their hearts. "Come home at 10 in a row," one said. Another added: "Unbelievable content, would read again."

Celtic's away trip was cancelled by the SPFL and SFA in line with the rest of the country postponing their leagues indefinitely.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon has also called for a cancellation of all mass gatherings more than 500 people as the spread of the deadly COVID-19 continues.
