Josh Windass has delivered a one-word verdict on Rangers flop Carlos Pena – branding the Mexican forward HILARIOUS.

Former Ibrox midfielder Pena signed a three-year deal with the Ibrox club in the summer on 2017 for an undisclosed fee of around £2million.

But under the leadership of Pedro Caixinha, he made just 14 Gers appearances before being shipped out on-loan to Cruz Azul.

He then went on to join Liga MX rivals Necaxa, before walking out on Polish second tier side GKS Tychy due to a dispute over wages.

After his disastrous loan spells came to an end Pena's Rangers contract was terminated by mutual consent.

His time in Glasgow can’t have been all that bad though as former teammate Windass revealed that he was quite the joker in and around the dressing room.

Windass, who played over 50 games at Ibrox during a two-year stint, took to Instagram for a question and answer session to kill some time during the coronavirus hiatus.

One Light Blues fan wrote: “What was Carlos Pena like?”

Windass then responded in one word stating: “Hilarious.”

The 26-year-old was also quizzed on his most memorable Old Firm moment, to which he responded: “Scoring and atmosphere, not many other great ones unfortunately.”

He also hailed former skipper Lee Wallace and ex-Gers teammates Niko Kranjcar and Bruno Alves.

Windass described Wallace as the biggest dressing room leader during his time at Rangers, while he labelled Kranjcar as the best player he has ever played with.

On Alves Windass added: “Top guy, helped a lot i.e. advice and how to be a top pro. Good guy.”
