IANIS Hagi has reaffirmed his long-term commitment to Rangers despite interest from Serie A giants Lazio.

The Romanian has made an impressive impact since moving to Ibrox on loan from Genk in January and scored key goals against Hibernian and Braga in the opening weeks of his Gers career.

Rangers are in the driving seat to sign Hagi on a permanent basis this summer after Sporting Director Ross Wilson negotiated terms that gives Steven Gerrard first option on the playmaker at the end of the campaign.

It is understood that Hagi has dismissed rumours he would prefer to move to Rome - as was suggested in Italian media this week - as looks to commit his future to the Light Blues.

Gerrard has repeatedly spoken of his admiration for Hagi in recent weeks and the forward - the son of former Real Madrid and Barcelona hero Gheorghe - is keen to continue that relationship with his Gers gaffer beyond the end of his loan deal.
