Arsenal have referenced Celtic's Invincible triumph in their post wishing Ivorian defender Kolo Toure a Happy Birthday.

The former centre-half played in the Hoops' 2016/17 season when they went through the entire campaign unbeaten under manager Brendan Rodgers.

An incredible achievement in itself, but former Gunners star Toure celebrated his second Invincible term having done so at Highbury during his time down south under Arsene Wenger in 2003/04.

For his 39th birthday, Arsenal shared a photo of their former player, saying: "A defender so good he became an Invincible twice. Happy birthday, Kolo!"

Fans loved the message and were delighted to praise the defender. One said: "Happy Birthday Kolo, forever Invincible." Another added: "Happy Birthday Mr Invincible."

One wrote: "Happy Birthday champ," while a fourth commented: "Better than van Dijk." The well-wishes also racked up more than 11,000 likes and 1,100 shares.

Toure remained at Parkhead as a first-team coach alongside Rodgers and Chris Davies before joining the duo at Leicester City.
