Millions of footballers around the globe are exploring new ways of keeping fit and motivated during self-isolation amid the coronavirus outbreak.

But former Rangers star Bruno Alves has taken home exercise to a whole new level after showing off his bizarre chest workout on Instagram.

The defender videoed himself doing keepy-ups against a wall with his chest as he trained in the scorching Portuguese sun. The ball could be heard battering off his chest as he volleyed the ball up onto the side of his home.

His post racked up over 20,000 likes and Light Blues fans were also quick to comment on the post as they were amazed by his unique workout.

One wrote: “I miss you at Rangers Bruno. So under appreciated it’s not funny!”

Another said: “Bruno doing Bruno things.”
And a third posted: “Chest of steeeeel.”

Manchester United star Bruno Fernandez was quick to have joke about the Parma star working up a sweat. He joked: “That’s a lot of avocado and coconut oil.”

Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo also commented “No pain no gain”, while Rangers hero Nacho Novo added “animaaaaaallllll”.

Alves spent just 12 months at Ibrox after signing from Cagliari under Pedro Caixinha. He then switched to Parma after Gers boss Steven Gerrard revealed the 38-year old would not be part of his plans.

We told earlier this week how Ibrox ace Alfredo Morelos and boss Gerrard were leading the way in the #StayAtHome toilet roll challenge.

The viral social media stunt has seen thousands of football stars from around the globe doing keepy-ups with loo roll to raise awareness for the COVID-19 pandemic.

Both Gerrard and Morelos posted to their Instagram story showing off their juggling skills and the official Rangers Twitter account was quick to share.

They wrote: “El Bufalo providing the Instagram content you need in your life right now.”

Before adding: “The gaffer showing us all how it is done over on his Instagram. Send us your best effort!”
