Scott Brown has issued a heartfelt message to Celtic fans as coronavirus continues to sweep the globe.

The Hoops captain shared his thoughts and gratitude to supporters for their love throughout the season. Celts currently sit 13 points clear of rivals Rangers and have had a successful campaign to date, having already won the Betfred Cup and made it through to the semi-final of the Scottish Cup.

While uncertainty reigns and it is not yet known when the SPFL and SFA will allow Scottish football to return, Brown was quick to remind fans that the players are with them.

And the 34-year-old called for supporters to help each other through the pandemic to make sure everyone is back in the seats at Parkhead when the footie does, indeed, return.

"Hi everybody," he said. "I wanted to send this message on behalf of myself and teammates to give you our support and best wishes. We know it is worrying and difficult times for everyone and we want you to know, we are thinking about all of our fans.

"You have supported us brilliantly all season, all of the lads. Everyone at the club is now right behind you. Thank you for everything you have given us, your help is everything, so we want you and your families to do everything you can to stay safe.

"We know that it's a really difficult time for so many people and that we won't see you for so long. But we want you to know that we'll be back and we'll be seeing you soon - and we're looking forward to it.

"Look after yourselves, look after each other. Lots of love from everybody at Celtic, we're right behind you. Take care."

We told how Celtic chief Peter Lawwell also had a message for supporters when he explained how the league cannot be voided and that the reigning champions want to complete their Premiership fixtures and win the title fairly.
