The England full-back has been a revelation with the Reds and has quickly become a fan favourite with the Anfield faithful after showing off his attacking flare from right back in Jurgen Klopp’s side.

And now the young defender has revealed that as a kid he had a soft spot for Celtic before recently allowing the Light Blues into his life due to his hero being in the Ibrox hotseat.

Speaking to GQ magazine, Alexander-Arnold said: “Growing up I was Celtic, but now, because of the connection [Steven Gerrard managing Rangers], I’m probably neutral up there now.”

Trent also revealed that the funniest teammate in the dressing room is Scotland skipper Andy Robertson.
