Rangers' Ianis Hagi has been named one of Belgian football's transfer flops of the season.

The Romanian, 21, joined the Light Blues on loan from Genk earlier this season and has shone on the European stage. Having been unable to fully get to grips with the Scottish Premiership, though, thus far.

According to Belgian football site Voetbal Nieuws, the winger's time at Genk has not been looked upon favourably. And the publication believes the club will do well to sell for the pre-arranged £4.5million Gers have on the player should they wish to sign him permanently.

"Genk will soon escape a hangover, because Rangers FC would be willing to pay £5million to take over Ianis Hagi's contract," the site said. "They might even make some profit if the price they say they paid was correct.

"Last summer, it was first reported that they paid four million for the Romanian wonder boy, who will therefore only go down in history as a silent passer-by."

Another player who made the list was former Celtic defender Mikael Lustig who, at AA Gent, lost his place earlier this term to Alessio Castro-Montes. Voetbal Nieuws describe the Hoops hero as "free and therefore not a big blunder, but... a fairly unnecessary transfer."
