CELTIC goalkeeper Craig Gordon has turned down a contract extension at Parkhead after being offered a 'vastly reduced' deal.

The shot-stopper has spent the last six seasons at the Premiership champions with his current contract set to expire.

St Mirren are among the clubs chasing the Scotland internationalist's signature, with Gordon claiming that he is also in talks with other clubs.

But after knocking back an offer of reduced wages to stay at Celtic, he says it is now up to the club to come back with an improved offer.

"With Celtic, the ball is in their court," Gordon told the Scottish Sun. "They’ve made an offer but they know they’ll need to come back with something better.

"My contract has lapsed and I’m free to talk to anybody. That’s what I intend to do over the next few weeks.

"St Mirren have made me a good offer and other clubs have also been in touch.

"As things stand I haven’t closed the door on anybody."
