CELTIC starlet Karamoko Dembele and Chelsea youngster Billy Gilmour have both been named on the prestigious Golden Boy award longlist.

The pair are among 98 other footballing talents across Europe to be named on the list that was created by Italian outlet Tuttosport in 2003.

The aim of the award is to decide the best young footballer in Europe who is playing in one of the top tier leagues.

Celtic kid Dembele makes the cut after breaking into Neil Lennon's first team squad last season, where he made two appearances off the bench against Cluj in the Europa League and Ross County in the Scottish Premiership.

Ex-Rangers youth Gilmour also finds himself ranked amongst the best after a stunning breakthrough season at Chelsea.

The 18-year-old burst onto the scene playing nine times including two man of the match standout showings against Liverpool and Everton respectively.

Gilmour was also named on the Goal’s 2020 men’s NxGn list, which works in a similar format to the Golden Boy award.

The pair face stiff competition to land the gong with Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland the hot favourite.

Jadon Sancho, Alphonso Davies, Ansu Fati, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Mason Greenwood and Phil Foden are all also in the running.

Previous winners include Wayne Rooney, Lionel Messi, Cesc Fabregas, Sergio Aguero, Paul Pogba, Raheem Sterling and Kylian Mbappe.
