Celtic first-team coach Gavin Strachan has addressed potential interest in Peterborough striker Ivan Toney, admitting he enjoyed working with the frontman.
Toney has been linked with both the Hoops and rivals Rangers as Posh look to offload him for a substantial fee given he has one year left on his contract. Strachan, who previously coached the attacker, believes he deserves the attention he has received since scoring 26 goals in 39 appearances before the shutdown.
Strachan - son of former Celtic boss Gordon - did, however, explain that he hadn't been in the door at Parkhead long enough to know the ins and outs of the recruitment this season, quite yet. "I've only been on the training pitch for a week and two days so I've just been introducing myself to people," he said. "I haven't really been privy to those sorts of things.
"I enjoyed working with Ivan and he's a striker who has attracted lots of attention and rightly so."
