Rangers hero Barry Ferguson hopes youngster Kai Kennedy can come to an agreement with the club to remain at Ibrox.

Reports emerged that Gers had been hoping to keep hold of the promising youngster and even offered him a deal. However it was claimed his representatives had asked for a pay package that was way more than the Light Blues were willing to pay. That saw the club tell Kennedy he was free to leave.

But Ferguson reckons the attacker has 'huge potential' and could be a big player for the club in future. And he explained on PLZ Soccer that he wants the player to stick around - and ignore any bad advice.

He said: "A lot of these young players have advisors who maybe try and push them a bit too quickly. I like young players to stay about and fight for a place. There's no doubt the young kid has huge potential so I would like him to stay about. At this stage in his career it's not about money.

"We've seen it with various young players moving far too quick for my liking, I'd like to see him stay for a while longer."
