STEVEN DAVIS has urged Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos to stay at Ibrox despite interest from across Europe.

The Colombian striker has been linked with a number of clubs this summer and most recently Serie A giants Lazio were quoted with an interest.

But Davis, who is preparing to face off against Lyon in Rangers' first match of pre-season tonight, is hoping that the 24-year-old hangs around next season to help the Ibrox club in their bid to stop 10-in-a-row.

He said: “Of course we want him to stay. As a squad, we want him here.

“Look at the number of goals he has scored over the past couple of seasons.

“Even in my time here, his all-round game has improved ten-fold.

"He still has a lot of potential to improve even further.

“Scoring that number of goals, the performances he has put in during the European games especially, there are going to be clubs looking at him.”
