Ex-Celtic star Oli Burke has bid farewell to Alaves after his loan deal concluded this week.

The Spanish outfit still hope to sign the Scotland cap on a permanent deal, but it looks like the West Brom man may not be sticking around as he said his goodbyes on social media.

Posting a farewell with a photo playing against Barcelona and Arturo Vidal, Burke said: "Thank you for the memories and great experience @deportivoalaves met some great people on this journey and I wish you every bit of success - a tough way to end but still can be proud to stay in La Liga for another year."

Burke, 23, has done well in Spain during his loan spell and now his clubs look to agree on terms to make the move permanent. He made 32 appearances, scoring once.

It is claimed the transfer fee could be the main issue, should Alaves attempt to move for the permanent transfer, with the Baggies hoping to recoup most of the Ā£15m they spent on the player from RB Leipzig back in 2017.

Burke, 22, made 19 appearances during his time at Parkhead.
