Steven Gerrard says Alfredo Morelos will travel to Aberdeen with the squad - as he revealed Lille are still 'way off' a deal for the Colombian striker.
The French outfit have had a bid booted out for Morelos already and Gerrard claims the two clubs are nowhere near an agreement on a fee. That means Morelos will make the journey through for their Premiership curtain-raiser at Pittodrie. Though the manager stopped short of guaranteeing that his star man would start the action.
Gerrard, speaking today, said: "Alfredo will travel up to Aberdeen with us. In terms of the starting eleven and squad I will decide this after today's session. I've had some detailed chats with Alfredo this week. He tells me he's ready, he looks ready.
"If there's a bid that's big enough that the board want to accept, we'll make that decision as and when it comes. At the moment we are nowhere near that."
