Fan favourite Scottish Football Extra is back on BT Sport screens this evening despite the channel missing out on coverage of the games this season.

Sky Sports beat out BT Sport for exclusive rights to broadcast Scottish football this term, but the popular show - fronted by presenter Darrell Currie - will return with its usual pundits and opinions.

Former Celtic star Chris Sutton and ex-Rangers man Ally McCoist are on board as well as Michael Stewart and Stephen Craigan to preview this weekend's Premiership openers including Aberdeen against the Light Blues at Pittodrie and Neil Lennon's Celts at home to Hamilton Accies on Sunday afternoon.

Fans can catch the show on BT Sport 1 from 6.30pm this evening.

It comes as outspoken pundit Stewart, formerly of Hearts and Hibs, was revealed NOT to be listed on the panel for BBC Sportscene's return show despite being a regular on the TV programme in recent seasons. He could, however, show up on Celtic's coverage of their curtain-raiser Celtic TV secured a deal with broadcast company Sunset and Vine - the company behind BT Sport.
