Rangers boss Steven Gerrard admits he is close to bringing in a new signing.
The Ibrox manager has been in the market for a new midfielder and striker and has been linked with Amiens powerhouse Bongani Zungu. Gers have a game against Aberdeen to look forward to at Pittodrie tomorrow afternoon and are unlikely to have anyone in before kick-off.
However he is confident of adding to his squad in the next week or so as he and Gers continue to challenge Celtic in the Hoops' quest for 10 in a row.
Gerrard said: "We're close, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a new Rangers player in the coming days." The news comes as the Light Blues completed the signing of Blackpool striker Tony Weston.
The youngster heads straight into Rangers' academy side after joining for an undisclosed fee.
Zungu, meanwhile, has reportedly snubbed a move to Celta Vigo in favour of a switch to Glasgow. It had been claimed he could sign for Gers this week, but now it appears any move may be slightly delayed.
