Ross Doohan has completed his season-long loan deal to Ross County from Celtic.

The goalkeeper played for the Staggies against his parent club last week but that required special permission from the appropriate authorities. Now, though, the keeper has officially been confirmed as a Ross County player.

Doohan was player of the season in his last loan at Ayr United and played 80 times during his two spells at Somerset Park.

Stuart Kettlewell, County manager, had been desperate to get his man. He said last week: "We’ve known for a wee while that Celtic were going to allow us to take in Ross for the season. But it’s been difficult to get there. Obviously, Celtic have had the issues trying to get another goalkeeper in themselves.

“But we know Ross well and we know what he is capable of. It’s just a case of getting to that stage and, fortunately, we feel we are a bit closer getting him for 90 minutes. He was literally dropped into our dressing room, but you could see how he handled the game and how the guys reacted to him that he will be a really good addition to the goalkeeping department."
