ABERDEEN will still be allowed to travel for Premiership matches and remain scheduled to face St Johnstone at McDiarmid Park this weekend – despite the new lockdown restrictions that have been brought into the city.

Pubs and restaurants have been ordered to close after a spike in coronavirus cases in the Granite City but this should have no adverse effects on the fixture list for Derek McInnes’ side.

Players and staff will still be subject to regular tests and will enter quarantine if they are positive.

The public have been advised not to travel to Aberdeen while the lockdown restrictions are in place, but footballers are allowed to travel under the current guidelines.

The Dons are hosting Hamilton next Wednesday and there are currently no plans to reschedule the fixture.
