CELTIC manager Neil Lennon has confirmed that the club have launched an investigation after Leigh Griffiths held a birthday party for his girlfriend at their home over the weekend.
Pictures appeared to show guests huddled together, which is not in line with the government's social distancing measures.
Speaking after Sunday's 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock, Lennon said that the club are conducting an investigation into the incident - but inisisted that the striker's future at Parkhead is not at risk and downplayed the party's significance.
“No [his future is not under threat],” he said. “The club are conducting an investigation. I’m not convinced it’s a big issue, so hopefully it will be resolved in a couple of days.
“He’s not fit, he’s got a calf strain at the moment, so he would have missed the game anyway.”
Griffiths was on the receiving end of criticism from Lennon earlier this summer after reporting back for pre-season training overweight, and was left behind for Celtic's pre-season training camp in France.
