Steven Gerrard says there has been no contact from Leeds United over a potential move for Borna Barisic - but the Rangers boss is not surprised to see him linked elsewhere.

Barisic has been one of the Gers' most consistent performers in recent seasons and has been touted for a move to the English Premier League by recent reports down south. Gerrard, though, insists there has been no bids made for the Croatian left-back and claims the defender is settled in Glasgow.

But the Liverpool hero admits he has not been shocked to see links because of the players' form. Asked about any interest, Gerrard said: "No [there has been no contact from Leeds]. Borna is focused here and has signed a long contract.

"He’s really settled, he’s in good form and we’re delighted to have him. Nothing has come to us in terms of that situation. But it’s no surprise because obviously he was in the running for player of the year last year, very consistent."
