Celtic target Shane Duffy is reportedly interested in a move to the Hoops.
However Brighton's expectation of a £2million loan fee could potentially scupper any deal for the defender.
Irishman Duffy is on the Hoops' radar as well as West Ham, West Brom and Burnley. Though it is reported in the Daily Mail that he would be 'keen' on a switch to Glasgow.
He made 25 appearances for the Seagulls last season, scoring one goal.
Celts boss Neil Lennon has made no secret of his desire to improve his defence this season. But, having splashed out upwards of £10million on two players Vasilis Barkas and Albian Ajeti, is unlikely to spend too much more.
Kris Ajer, meanwhile, remains on AC Milan's radar while Christopher Jullien is reportedly being considered by Napoli.
