Martin Boyle is in discussions with Hibs over a new deal after beginning the new season in fine form.
The pacy winger netted twice on the opening day of the new campaign, leading to speculation that clubs were considering a move for the Australian. Celtic and Rangers were both linked with Boyle and ex-Celt Kris Commons even urged his former team to snap up the player.
Now, manager Jack Ross has confirmed the Easter Road outfit are hopeful of keeping him around and have began talks in a bid to do so. Though he admits the attacker has decisions to make as clubs circle. "At the moment we are in discussions with Martin and his representatives about trying to put something in front of him that would enable him to stay at the club," he said.
"So it’s good we are in the process of doing that. How it will unfold I obviously couldn’t say, but I think it’s important we do our best to offer him the best possible deal we can. The advantage we have is he very much enjoys it here, that’s a good starting point.
“He’s at a critical stage of his career, he has important decisions to make. But it’s nice we’re in a situation where we are having those discussions."
