JAMES TAVERNIER is confident Rangers' summer investment will pay off after boss Steven Gerrard bolstered his Ibrox attack.

The 40-year-old has added Ianis Hagi, Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itten during the window and Rangers have so far managed to retain the services of striker Alfredo Morelos.

Rangers fired a blank in the draw with Livingston on Sunday but skipper Tavernier has faith in the new look Light Blues forward line this term.

He said: "We’ve dropped the two points but now Kilmarnock is our next focus.

"I think we’ve started the season well., This was disappointing because we wanted maximum points and we have quality in the team to beat Livingston.

"They defended really well. We’ve only got ourselves to blame but it’s the start of the season and we’ve still got to work hard.

"You look at the names we have and the players coming off the bench. We’ve got strength in numbers especially at the top end of the pitch.

"The club have recruited really well and the attacking guys now have to work hard to get used to each other. The next week will maybe allow them to do that."
