Celtic target Rodrigo Riquelme is on trial at Reading in a bid to win himself a loan deal at the Madejski Stadium.

The Hoops have been interested in the Spaniard and keen to sign him on a short-term loan from Atletico Madrid. However it is believed they have not yet officially offered any sort of terms to club, nor player.

That has opened the door to Reading to make their move and, according to reports down south, the playmaker played 30 minutes in a friendly for the Royals and impressed his potential new teammates.

Riquelme, 20, scored eight goals and assisted seven in 41 games for Atletico's reserves last season. He has featured for the first-team once and is reportedly a promising kid that manager Diego Simeone remains a fan of.
