Ex-Celtic striker Charlie Nicholas appears to have landed on his feet following his Sky Sports sacking - starring in a new Paddy Power sitcom short.
Nicholas was binned by Soccer Saturday after years in the role in a shakeup which also saw Matt Le Tissier and Phil Thompson axed. Now, though, the trio have appeared in Pundits - a series poking fun at their antics as they attempt to revive their careers.
Set with the group of pals apparently living together in Nicholas' house, they are forced to deal with life after Sky Sports. Former Charlton manager Alan Curbishley is also hilariously integrated as the 'new host' for their bizarre show which involves illegal streams, dodgy internet connections and old camcorders.
Bookies Paddy Power are known for their witty advertising and brilliant humour. Previously they had Rhodri Giggs discussing 'loyalty' following brother Ryan's issues and José Mourinho on being the Special One.
We told recently how Jeff Stelling, Soccer Saturday host, admitted he felt like he'd lost his best mates following their sacking. He said: "One of my saddest days ever at Sky Sports with the departure of three of my best mates. They have been part of a team that for me was the best."
